A new study shows that older adults can extend their lives by taking blood pressure medications as prescribed.<br />The data supporting the findings were published Monday in the journal Hypertension.<br />Researchers said; "our findings definitely suggest that even in very frail people, anti-hypertensive treatment reduces the risk of death".<br />Researchers found that adults who used blood pressure medicine as prescribed lowered their risk for death by up to 44%.<br />UPI reports that over 60% of all Americans over age 65 are living with high blood pressure.
